Here is a slightly more detailed graphic of my 1990 vision of what has now been revealed as the top secret site code named "The Tear Drop Site", which now made publi, is also known as York Central Site. In order to relieve Coach and Delivery Lorry Bolstered Congestion at Rush Hours [notice deliberate plural since the "Rush Hour" has become more like a 2 and 1/2 hour series of queues: due to foot street hours extension and congestion creating CoYC Highways and Transportation Department "Improvements. e.g.Changing Box Junctions to Half Box Junctions, thus removing the priority of right turners - Micklegate/North St/Skeldergate Junction, where now the Park and Ride No.3 and No. 59 which now have to wait to turn right. Remember that a box junction in a set of traffic lights has a sole purpose of changing priority from straight ahead traffic, who's exit is clear, to deem it unclear if there is a vehicle within waiting to turn right. You therefore may not enter but must let the right turner cross to complete the turn, unless you too intend to turn right, in which case you may enter and then turn offside to offside behind each other. This invokes an alternation of flow pattern, should there be more than one oncoming right turner; but keeps traffic flowing in ALL directions without congesting. Access to "Tear Drop" must come from Water End or it will, too, increase congestion and result in stationary traffic on the A1237 outer ring road at the intersections with the A59 and B1224. Thus, Coaches arriving via the A19 from the north will turn right over Clifton Bridge and Left to "Tear Drop". Coaches arriving from the south via the A64 and A59 will be directed to and will turn Left from Boroughbridge Road, thus reducing Peak Hour Loading on Poppleton Road; Holgate Road; The Mount; Blossom Street; Queen Street; Station Rise and Leeman Road "Station Rendezvous" at the Cenotaph garden of remember acne, not forgetting relieving congestion and Coach and Passenger Carrying Vehicles Passing the Station to boot.
